I am now on to week three of school. It has been an interesting few weeks, getting used to the campus, meeting new people, figure out what my profs expect of me, and trying to stay on top of readings...
Like the roller coaster ride it is there have been lots of ups and down. One definite up has the acceptance of two of my paintings into the Artery, the University's art gallery.
The opening for [Tek-churs] (pronounced textures) was Monday the 24th. Unfortunately, I couldn't go to the opening as I was unable to get a coworker to cover my shift...so I guess I'll just have to get my art into another gallery sometime!
The will be open for about another week and close on October 5th. If you're in the area feel free to check it out, there are some other really neat pieces in there(the white blob on the wall up close quite a good sculpture!). The gallery has been moved from downtown Kitchener and is now in Waterloo's East Campus Hall. To get to the Artery go through the Red doors at the back of the building. The gallery is open from 9:30-6pm.
I am a first year student double majoring in Fine Arts as well as Environment and Resource Studies. I live on a family farm in the country. I love new socks, the first chill fall night when you break out your duvet, and racing deer on our country side road. Along with art I am passionate about my faith, investing in the people I love, all things nature, solid well planned pranks, and racing (cross country and triathlons).
